Description
Since 2015, the St. Georg Monastery Foundation, based in Bernau near Berlin, has been committed to the preservation and revitalization of cultural heritage as well as social justice. It continuously awards grants to support art and cultural projects, monument preservation, and heritage protection, including restorations of the listed manor house in Götschendorf. Furthermore, the foundation supports charitable and ecclesiastical causes as well as initiatives dedicated to assisting those persecuted for political, racial, or religious reasons, refugees, and war victims. Through workshops, fundraising, and the provision of grants, it promotes gender equality and strengthens both local and international cultural and social projects.
Eligible for funding are private individuals, non-profit organizations, foundations, public and educational institutions, as well as companies from Brandenburg. Projects in the fields of art & media, urban development, work & social affairs are considered, as well as initiatives supporting people in need or those persecuted.
