Funding of the Abbey Foundation Kloster Engelthal

Since 2004, the Abtei Kloster Engelthal Foundation has been committed to preserving a significant cultural heritage in the Wetterau region and promotes monastic life, ecumenism, as well as educational and cultural initiatives. As a spiritually influenced place, the abbey combines over seven centuries of tradition with contemporary dialogue formats: from the Engelthal Conversations to the annual foundation concert and the donors’ mass in February. The goal is to preserve the spiritual and cultural character of the ensemble for future generations and to strengthen social cohesion. The foundation manages its assets sustainably so that proceeds flow in accordance with its statutes into diverse projects and achieve long-term impact.

Non-profit projects are funded nationwide through endowments, donations, and sponsorships. Eligible sponsors include private individuals, companies, foundations, non-profit organizations, and public institutions. The focus is on initiatives in the fields of culture, education, commitment to social cohesion and democracy, as well as vocational training and further education. Particularly welcome are projects that keep monastic life vibrant, enable ecumenical encounters, or promote public dialogue with political, cultural, and economic stakeholders. Applications and grants can be submitted on an ongoing basis. The tax benefits for sponsors are documented by an appropriate certificate. Thus, every contribution helps to sustainably shape Abtei Kloster Engelthal as a place of silence, encounter, and reflection, bridging the past, present, and future.
