Description

The Augenlicht Foundation is committed nationwide to improving eye health and the rehabilitation of visually impaired individuals. Financial support is provided to initiatives that develop innovative approaches to the prevention, detection, and treatment of eye diseases. Furthermore, the funding program focuses on holistic measures that compensate for the physical or psychological consequences of visual impairment and support affected individuals on their path to greater independence. Projects in the fields of research & innovation, healthcare, as well as work & social affairs are equally eligible to apply in order to contribute specifically to the reduction of blindness and visual impairments.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, foundations, as well as public institutions engaged in diagnostic methods, therapeutic concepts, or rehabilitative services. An informal inquiry is sufficient to receive the application form by email and to apply for the grant. A prerequisite is compliance with the foundation’s purpose according to §2 of the statutes, which, in addition to ophthalmological projects, also includes initiatives supporting physically and psychologically impaired target groups. Since funding is continuously available, interested parties may submit an application at any time and thus make a valuable contribution to eye health and the inclusion of visually impaired people.
