Description

Since 2004, the "Bewegt Menschen" Foundation has been supporting social and educational initiatives in the Bonn/Rhein-Sieg/Eifel region that would otherwise have little chance of funding. Non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, volunteers, and also private individuals can continuously submit applications for grants. Projects are funded in the areas of social affairs, democracy and social cohesion, health, disaster protection, vocational training and further education, as well as child and youth welfare. A prerequisite is the location or area of activity in Bonn/Rhein-Sieg/Eifel, as well as proof of non-profit objectives and social relevance.

The focus is on strengthening social cohesion through financial support for volunteer work, public services (emergency medical services, first aid, civil protection), and the qualification of first responders. Selection criteria include the level of innovation and sustainability of the project, regional benefit, and transparency in the use of funds. Each year, an outstanding project is selected, while other initiatives and new ideas are also generally considered. Through a fiduciary structure, the foundation guarantees sustainable and responsible fund management. The open funding practice invites interested parties to submit contributions for the future of the common good and to jointly strengthen local cohesion.
