Description
The Picciolo Foundation for Children and Youth supports schools, kindergartens, and other educational institutions in the greater Bielefeld area with financial grants for pedagogically justified projects, measures, and material acquisitions. The focus is primarily on children and youth with existing or impending special needs. Funding is provided for therapeutic applications, artistic and musical educational offerings, excursions and class trips, as well as further training and workshops. Initiatives for inclusion, health- and nutrition-related projects, or prevention measures (e.g., violence prevention, addiction prevention, traffic safety) may also be considered. The funds are intended as a supplement to municipal budgets and aim to provide impulses for sustainable participation and personal development of the participants. Ongoing application opportunities ensure flexible project planning throughout the entire year.
Applicants. Organizations and private individuals submit a written application via the respective school, the support association, or directly to the foundation. Required are a project description with objectives, timeframe, and public relations concept; a detailed financial plan including total costs, grant requirements, and possible additional funding sources; as well as proof of non-profit status (e.g., the statutes of the support association). Recipients agree to a public presentation of the funding. Upon positive approval, payment is usually made to the support association or as direct cost coverage. There is no legal entitlement to payment; project completion is documented by a brief report and a cost statement. Through this, the Picciolo Foundation sustainably promotes inclusion-oriented educational offerings and contributes to equal opportunities for children and youth in North Rhine-Westphalia.
