Description

The Education and Youth Foundation supports innovative educational projects that integrate scientific findings from learning theory and motivation research into everyday school life. Nationwide, non-profit schools and educational institutions in the primary and secondary sectors are supported in testing child- and age-appropriate organizational forms as well as didactic models. The focus is on the connection between theory and practice: from interactive learning workshops to motivating teaching concepts, measures are to be implemented that promote the self-effective actions of children and adolescents and make a sustainable contribution to educational quality.

Funding is provided in the form of grants; applications can be submitted by March 30 and September 30 each year. A prerequisite is proof of non-profit status (§ 53 para. 2 no. 7 AO) through a corporate tax exemption notice (not older than five years) or a provisional notice (§ 60a AO, not older than three years). The application must include a completed form, a project description (max. three pages), a cost and financing plan, and a copy of the exemption notice. Particular attention is paid to the alignment with the foundation’s purpose, the age-appropriate implementation of organizational forms, and the scientific basis of the project. These framework conditions offer committed educational providers the opportunity to realize forward-looking concepts and sustainably enrich school practice. Further details can be found in the funding guidelines and the application form in the download area of the German Foundation Center.
