Description
Since 2006, the GEW Oldenburg-Stadt Foundation has been committed to political and cultural educational initiatives in the Oldenburg region. Private individuals, educational institutions, non-profit organizations, interest groups, and associations can submit grant applications at any time. Funding is provided for measures that address fundamental trade union positions and strengthen the sustainable development of the training sector. These include, among others, workshops, campaigns, and events on democratic and inclusive topics as well as projects by and with young people and students that are pedagogically effective. A special focus is placed on activities that promote social cohesion, integrate migrants, and enable insightful engagement with racism and right-wing extremism.
For the application, a detailed project outline must be submitted as a file via email. Evaluation criteria include alignment with the foundation’s purpose, the regional connection to Oldenburg, and the focus on education and democracy. There are no fixed deadlines, as funding applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Approved funds support initiatives in actively involving young people in democratic processes and strengthening cultural participation. Interested groups thus have the opportunity to implement their concepts in a supportive environment and make a sustainable contribution to social cohesion and trade union education.
