Description

Since 2012, the Bremer Werkgemeinschaft Foundation has been committed to strengthening the healthcare system and social-psychiatric care in Bremen and the surrounding area. Focusing on the rehabilitation of people with mental disabilities or those at risk of disability, the foundation supports measures that promote inclusion and normalization of living conditions. Innovative models for mental health, the networking of outpatient services, as well as needs-based, community-oriented care structures are given special importance. As a legally recognized foundation under civil law, it operates selflessly and for the public benefit; its bodies – the board and advisory council – work in partnership to efficiently implement the foundation’s purpose. Funding is provided through donations, endowments, and income from the foundation’s assets; all grant funds are used exclusively for statutory purposes.

Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations and public institutions based or with project locations in Bremen and the surrounding area that plan projects in the field of social-psychiatric care and rehabilitation of mentally impaired individuals. Applications may be submitted on an ongoing basis; there is no specific deadline. A prerequisite is proof of non-profit status as well as a clear focus on outpatient services and innovative care models. The foundation offers grants exclusively and also provides support in initiating new care concepts. Institutions that strengthen personal and professional competencies, promote interdisciplinary networking, or explore previously unused approaches to mental health promotion will find a reliable partner in the Bremer Werkgemeinschaft Foundation. Interested project sponsors may submit applications at any time and thus contribute to the further development of community-based, needs-oriented psychiatry and rehabilitation.
