Funding of the Foundation of the Federal Association Kidney e.V. and Kidney Action

The funding provided by the Foundation of the Federal Association Kidney e.V. and Aktion Niere enables the nationwide implementation of diverse projects aimed at improving the quality of life for people with chronic kidney failure and their relatives. Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, companies, private individuals, as well as educational institutions pursuing innovative approaches in the fields of education, social affairs, sports, research & innovation, science, vocational training & continuing education, work & social affairs, as well as culture & media. Ongoing application submissions ensure that initiatives can be considered at any time – from local self-help groups to large-scale research projects.

The focus of the funding lies on measures such as the establishment and strengthening of self-help organizations, research projects on quality of life, rehabilitation, seminars and events, as well as the provision of mobility aids. Sports and exercise programs, nutrition training and counseling equally contribute to holistic care, as do specialized continuing education offerings and publications. The foundation supports all initiatives that help to make the daily lives of those affected more sustainable and increase their participation. Through the combination of practical support services and scientific supervision, a comprehensive network is created that actively supports people with chronic kidney diseases and their relatives.
