Description

The Foundation of the Supporters' Association of Cooperative Members supports non-profit and public institutions as well as educational establishments throughout Germany with grants for projects in culture, monument preservation, science, research, education, and further training. In accordance with its statutes, it funds initiatives that preserve the cooperative idea, research its history, and translate it into contemporary concepts. Projects focused on the historical examination of cooperative traditions, museum and archival work, as well as initiatives that inspire young people with cooperative principles such as self-help, self-responsibility, and self-administration, are particularly welcome. Applications can be submitted throughout the year, allowing creative organizations to be supported flexibly and continuously. A prerequisite is always a close alignment with the dissemination and further development of the fundamental cooperative values.

The funding priorities range from the restoration of listed cooperative buildings to scientific studies on cooperative history, as well as educational offerings that convey cooperative economic concepts in a practical manner. With the aim of sustainably strengthening the cooperative idea, the program addresses both established initiatives and young start-ups in the cultural and educational sectors. The continuous awarding of grants provides planning security for long-term projects and enables a creative engagement with the principles of self-organization. Through targeted support of this spectrum, the Foundation makes a significant contribution to a vibrant culture of remembrance and the innovative advancement of the cooperative concept.
