Funding of the German Red Cross Foundation Duisburg

Since 2001, the German Red Cross Duisburg Foundation has been committed to sustainably strengthening the common good in North Rhine-Westphalia. Using donated funds, the foundation primarily supports projects in disaster and civil protection, the equipment of volunteer helpers, as well as educational and integration programs for children and youth. A central focus is the provision of a mobile operations center that enables rapid communication and effective coordination during evacuations, bomb disposal, and major damage incidents. Furthermore, the foundation supports the Sterntalerhaus in Duisburg-Meiderich, where disadvantaged young people, including those with disabilities and migration backgrounds, receive first aid training, violence prevention measures, and integrative educational offerings in a protected environment.

Non-profit organizations and public institutions based or active in Duisburg may submit grant applications on an ongoing basis, provided the projects serve the common good and involve cooperation with the DRK Duisburg or relate to volunteer helpers. Particularly eligible for funding are initiatives that strengthen humanitarian aid on site, support training in emergency services, and open new perspectives for children and youth. Through this project funding, the foundation makes a significant contribution to social participation and democratic culture in the region.
