Since its founding in 2009, the Erzabtei St. Ottilien Foundation has supported the preservation, continuation, and further development of the Erzabtei in the Bavarian region. As a legal entity with its own endowment, it continuously provides grants for projects and initiatives that serve to preserve the Benedictine tradition and the missionary charism. Eligible for funding are private individuals, companies, foundations, as well as non-profit organizations engaged in the fields of culture, education, children and youth, social cohesion/democracy, culture & media, vocational training and further education, as well as labor & social affairs. Targeted measures strengthen monastic life, proclamation of faith, and religious-ethical orientation, and sustainably support youth education.
The focus of the funding is on projects of the Erzabtei St. Ottilien that keep the spiritual and missionary heritage alive. In particular, programs promoting monastic community life, the proclamation of the Christian faith, and the ethical education of young people are initiated. Donations and endowments can be made at any time and make a lasting contribution to securing the diverse tasks of culture, education, and social engagement.
