Description
Since 2003, the Evangelical Academic Work Foundation has supported the academic and student work of Protestant churches in Germany with its foundation capital. As a legally recognized foundation under civil law based in Stuttgart, it promotes the Evangelical Academic Community in Germany e.V. in the long term through income from endowments. Eligible for funding are private individuals, foundations, and companies that wish to engage in the areas of initial and continuing education, education, commitment to social cohesion and democracy, science, work & social affairs, as well as research & innovation. The foundation aims to strengthen the Christian presence at universities and thus contributes to the diversity of academic discourse.
Particularly supported are three target groups: members of Protestant churches working in academic professions, students involved in Protestant student work, and initiatives for Christian university work in cooperation with church and other Christian associations. Applications or endowments can be submitted at any time, and 100% of the endowment amounts are tax-deductible. The current foundation capital amounts to approximately 500,000 euros, whose annual income is specifically used for scholarships, project funding, and networking activities. In doing so, the Evangelical Academic Work Foundation enables a sustainable contribution to social coexistence and strengthens future-oriented leaders in science and church. Interested parties can find more information on the website of the Evangelical Academic Community in Germany e.V.
