Description

The Evangelical Reconciliation Church Foundation at the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial supports educational and commemorative work on the grounds of the historic site year-round with interest-free funding. Income from the foundation’s assets finances free events, exhibitions, and guided tours for school classes, groups, and international visitors. At the same time, the institution supports initiatives and projects in remembrance and human rights work as well as the “Memorial Book for the Prisoners of Dachau Concentration Camp.” A particular concern is the personnel and substantive support of survivors of National Socialist persecution and their relatives. Through critical engagement with the church’s conduct during the Nazi era, the funding makes an important contribution to social cohesion and democratic education in Bavaria.

Eligible for funding are private individuals, non-profit organizations, and public institutions planning project and personnel expenses, low-cost exhibition loans, as well as event and project support. The program is specifically aimed at initiatives in historical-political education, engagement groups for anti-discrimination, volunteers of the Action Reconciliation Service for Peace, and organizations from church and civil society. Applications can be submitted at any time and are granted as subsidies. Continuous financing ensures that commemorative work, cultural offerings, and socio-political educational measures can be preserved and expanded in the long term.
