Funding of the Foundation for Heritage Churches in the Protestant Church District of Tecklenburg

Since its founding in 2002, the Foundation for Heritage Churches in the Evangelical Church District of Tecklenburg has been promoting the ideal and material preservation of 21 listed churches in the Tecklenburg region. As a legally recognized church foundation, it raises funds to realize ecclesiastical and cultural purposes in North Rhine-Westphalia. Grant applications can be submitted continuously by non-profit organizations, public institutions, or private individuals. Funding is provided for renovation measures, restoration of historic architectural elements, and other expenses related to the preservation of these valuable church buildings. The foundation aims for sustainable support by soliciting endowments and donations and using the proceeds from its foundation capital exclusively for the maintenance of the heritage church structures.

Church congregations, church building authorities, as well as private and institutional sponsors within the Evangelical Church District of Tecklenburg, have the opportunity at any time to apply for funding for specific projects. Whether it is the repair of sandstone facades, restoration of historic windows, or renovation of roofs and towers – the foundation accompanies and advises on the application process and the selection of appropriate professional measures. The goal is to secure the cultural heritage of vibrant places of worship for future generations while simultaneously contributing to cultural identity and urban diversity in rural areas. Interested sponsors can support through one-time donations or ongoing endowments to ensure the long-term preservation of these unique structures.
