Funding of the Foundation for People with Disabilities, Harz-Weser

The Foundation for People with Disabilities, Harz-Weser continuously awards funding in the form of grants and exclusively supports non-profit organizations as well as public institutions in Lower Saxony. The focus is on regional initiatives to strengthen inclusion and participation: projects that promote social cohesion and sustainably improve the quality of life for children, adolescents, and adults with physical, intellectual, or multiple disabilities. Particular consideration is given to projects that cannot be financed from ongoing budgetary funds. The range extends from barrier-free play and meeting spaces to therapeutic offerings in daycare centers and special education centers, as well as rural projects in the Harz-Weser region.

Interested applicants can submit their project ideas at any time, as there are no fixed deadlines. Eligible projects are in the thematic areas of Social Affairs, Children and Youth, Work & Social Affairs, Regional Development as well as Agriculture & Rural Development. The foundation’s goal is to support care and educational institutions in enabling their participants to take part in social life independently. For example, a grant can make the acquisition of specialized play equipment, mobility services, or barrier-free meeting places feasible. In doing so, the foundation makes a decisive contribution to anchoring inclusive structures in the Harz-Weser region and placing the needs of people with disabilities at the center.
