Description
Funding Initiative for Social Cohesion and Sustainability
The Hoffmann/Sprenger Foundation supports non-profit organizations in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein with a focus on community, minorities, migration, environment, and tradition. Projects are funded that provide assistance to persons in need (§ 53 AO), promote public and vocational education, art and culture, as well as nature and landscape conservation. The foundation prefers smaller projects that can be realized in their entirety to ensure that the foundation's contribution constitutes a significant share of at least 80% to 100% of the total financing. Selection is based on alignment with the foundation’s objectives and the regional relevance of the projects.
Application and Decision Process
Applications may be submitted at any time. The foundation board makes funding decisions in two meetings per year. Applications must include a binding project description, the total financial volume, the planned use of funds, as well as information on the measure, location, timeframe, involved persons, and public relations. Proof of non-profit status is provided by the statutes or exemption notice; a clear regional reference is required for cultural and nature conservation projects. The evaluation places particular emphasis on conformity with the foundation’s goals, sustainability of implementation, and full financing of smaller projects. The funding amount covers 80% to 100% of eligible costs. Interested organizations receive an objective and transparent review that encourages further commitment.
