Since 2003, the Kind und Jugend Foundation in the municipality of Tholey has been committed to promoting children and youth in the Saarland region with an initial capital of €50,000. It specifically supports initiatives and projects in the field of child and youth work within clubs, organizations, and open facilities, cooperating with educational institutions and civil society actors. The foundation aims to discover individual talents, strengthen general learning competencies, and enable socially disadvantaged young people to access school education as well as further training and continuing education measures. The decision-making body is the seven-member board of trustees, complemented by a two-person executive board, which jointly bear responsibility for the strategic orientation and allocation of grants.
Eligible for funding are interest groups, non-profit associations, educational institutions, and private individuals with an active presence or engagement in the municipality of Tholey. Grants are awarded continuously without a submission deadline, allowing applications to be submitted at any time.
