Description

The Maria Magdalenen Klein Borstel Foundation was established in 2003 by committed community members as a church foundation under civil law to provide long-term support to the Evangelical Lutheran parish of Maria Magdalenen Klein Borstel. It pursues a charitable, benevolent, and diaconal foundation purpose, focusing on supporting children’s and youth work, diaconal projects, and church music initiatives. Additionally, personnel expenses in social work fields, services for the elderly, as well as the maintenance and repair of church buildings are funded. Through consistent asset management and endowments, the foundation has succeeded in securing income and sustainably financing projects. This has enabled, for example, the realization of regional youth officer positions and confirmation trips in the past, which would not have been possible without parent-funded contributions.

Non-profit organizations with projects in the areas of children’s and youth work, senior care, diaconal staff, and church musical activities may apply at any time for a one-time grant. The prerequisite is that the project serves the work of the Maria Magdalenen Klein Borstel parish and makes a clearly defined contribution to the funding areas. Applications can be submitted continuously; there is no fixed deadline. With the funding, the foundation opens up scope for church community initiatives to develop creative, intergenerational, and common good-oriented projects. In this way, it helps ensure that church life in Klein Borstel remains vibrant in the future and that the community is sustainably strengthened.
