Funding by the Musikfreunde Kiel Foundation

The Musikfreunde Kiel Foundation supports projects in Schleswig-Holstein that introduce young people to sophisticated music and promote talented young musicians in the region. Eligible for funding are non-profit organizations, educational institutions, interest groups, and associations that wish to implement cultural education initiatives in the field of music pedagogy. Concerts and music projects are permanently financed from the interest income of an established endowment fund to facilitate access to classical music for children and adolescents and to strengthen their creativity. The focus is on events, workshops, and teaching formats that promote both cultural education and personal development, with an emphasis on musical education and talent promotion.

Funding is provided in the form of grants and is exclusively available to non-profit entities. Applications for ongoing support can be submitted at any time, provided the project has a clear connection to the musical education of young people in the Kiel region. The goal is to build a sustainable network of concert series, teaching offerings, and competitions that accompany young talents in the long term. Through cooperation with local schools, music schools, and cultural associations, synergies are utilized and existing structures strengthened. The Musikfreunde Kiel Foundation operates independently, is managed in a fiduciary capacity by Förde Sparkasse, and is recognized as a non-profit organization by the Kiel tax office. This ensures a solid, secure, and professionally competent allocation of funding for musical education and artistic development in the region.
