Description

The Neue Energie Foundation supports nonprofit organizations nationwide that develop innovative concepts for a socially just and sustainable citizen energy transition. Financial grants are awarded at least twice a year to advance projects in the fields of energy efficiency, renewable energies, climate protection, environmental and nature conservation, as well as education and training. The focus is on initiatives that anchor decentralized energy projects within civil society while responsibly managing resources and people. A lively exchange of ideas and forward-looking approaches is valued as much as the involvement of knowledgeable, committed groups that promote emancipatory structures.

To apply, the official application form must be completed and submitted by email together with a cost and financing plan. Additionally, the statutes, a current tax exemption certificate (not older than three years), and an excerpt from the register of associations must be provided. Applications are reviewed by a foundation board that meets irregularly; therefore, the decision may take several months. Evaluation is based on criteria such as innovativeness, future orientation, and the professional expertise of the applicants. This funding opportunity is specifically aimed at nonprofit associations, foundations, and initiatives committed to decentralized, climate-friendly energy supply and initiating sustainable change processes in society.
