Funding of the Schmetterling Foundation

The funding from the Schmetterling Foundation enables nationwide grants for projects benefiting disadvantaged children and youth in Germany. The aim is to provide support in the areas of youth welfare, education, science & research, as well as civic engagement. As a non-profit and charitable institution, the foundation promotes ideas that strengthen social cohesion, improve access to educational opportunities, and advance innovative research approaches. Both initiatives from private individuals and non-profit organizations are equally considered. Through the continuous allocation of funding, project proposals can be implemented promptly and supported sustainably.

Projects that align with the foundation’s purpose and are carried out in Germany are eligible for funding. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations as well as private individuals developing projects in the fields of children and youth, vocational and further education, research & innovation, work & social affairs, or engagement for social cohesion and democracy. Applications can be submitted at any time, ensuring flexible access to funds. A clear presentation of the project objective is required within the context of youth welfare, formal or non-formal education, scientific research, or civic engagement. With this open procedure, the Schmetterling Foundation sustainably strengthens the participation of young people and fosters forward-looking initiatives for a solidarity-based community.
