Description

The project and cooperation funding of the Tri-Ergon Filmwerk Foundation supports non-profit organizations, educational institutions, interest groups, and associations in North Rhine-Westphalia in keeping the media-technical heritage of film and cinema alive. Projects in the fields of culture, digitization, education, as well as training and further education are funded – ranging from exhibitions to the restoration and digitization of historical film and sound recordings, to archiving and mediation services related to cinema, film, and media technology. The foundation grants subsidies based on a submitted project or cooperation description, with applications accepted at any time. The goal is to sustainably preserve technical achievements and film-historical documents and make them accessible to a broad public.

Through financial support, innovative exhibition concepts, school-based or extracurricular educational offerings, and scientific archival projects are realized throughout the federal state. The foundation places special emphasis on cooperations that illuminate regional film history and strengthen interdisciplinary partnerships between cultural and educational institutions. Interested project leaders thus have the opportunity to refurbish historical equipment and film collections, provide schools and museums with illustrative media offerings, and develop digital access to extensive archives. In this way, the funding initiative contributes to making the film-technical heritage tangible for future generations and preserving expertise in cinema, film, and media technology.
