Description
The Welfare Foundation NRW continuously supports non-profit organizations and institutions of independent welfare services in North Rhine-Westphalia with one-time investments, pilot projects, start-up financing, and special programs. Funding is provided for project approaches that are not covered by regular financing and have not yet commenced. A prerequisite is membership in one of the umbrella organizations (AWO, DRK, Diakonie, Caritas, Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband, Jewish Communities) as well as recognition as a legal entity with non-profit status. Eligible expenses include investment costs, personnel, and material costs; adherence to the subsidiarity principle as well as the sustainability and affordability of follow-up costs are the central evaluation criteria.
The application process is available online at any time via the funding portal and consists of coordination with the responsible umbrella organization, preparation of the required documents, and submission through the digital application cockpit. Among other things, a statement from the umbrella organization, the corporate tax exemption certificate, current register excerpts, as well as the statutes or articles of association are required. Depending on the funding area, additional documents such as financing plans, expense statements, or expert reports may be necessary. Through a transparent online platform and personal consultation by the office, applicants are supported at every step. This creates space for innovative social projects that achieve sustainable impact in the region and provide valuable impulses for independent welfare services.
