Support for the activities of political parties in Lower Austria

The Lower Austrian state government supports political parties in fulfilling their democratic duties and actively participating in the formation of societal will. The aim of the funding is to strengthen continuous engagement in political discourse and to promote social cohesion. Eligible for funding are, on the one hand, those parties represented in the state parliament, and on the other hand, electoral groups that achieved at least 2% of the valid votes in the last state election and submitted a proper electoral proposal in at least 15 constituencies. Through a non-repayable grant, organizational structures and internal processes can be financially relieved to professionally manage election campaigns, educational initiatives, and public relations. Applications can be submitted continuously, allowing both spontaneous project ideas and regular work programs to be considered.

The funding initiative is specifically aimed at interest groups and other associations with political objectives in Lower Austria. Approval is granted based on the criteria set forth in the Lower Austrian Party Financing Act 2012. The specialist department F1 of the Lower Austrian state government reviews the applications and oversees the disbursement of funds. The grant supports key areas such as event organization, expert research, and communication measures. This transparent and long-term funding contributes to further expanding democratic participation in Lower Austria and sustainably strengthening political actors in their work.
