Description
The Thomas Peters Foundation Sonnenseite supports nonprofit organizations, public institutions, foundations, interest groups, and other associations nationwide with interest-free grants for social and development policy projects both domestically and abroad. Since 2013, the foundation has continuously supported initiatives in the fields of social affairs, child and youth welfare, migration, health, commitment to social cohesion and democracy, education, development cooperation, labor & social affairs, vocational training, as well as agriculture & rural development. Applications can be submitted at any time, with only nonprofit applicants being considered. The allocation of funds is based on alignment with the foundation’s statutory purposes, the sustainability and impact of the project idea, and the demonstrated capacity of the applicants to reliably implement the project.
Funded are projects that specifically reach disadvantaged target groups such as children, youth, seniors, refugees, and people with disabilities, and strengthen their self-help potential. The portfolio includes, among others, youth and elderly care, educational and student support, welfare services, refugee and disability assistance, as well as civic engagement. Projects in partner countries benefit from funding just as much as German initiatives that promote social cohesion.
