Description

The “Promotion of Animal Production in Carinthia according to K-LFF 2023” is aimed at natural and legal persons as well as agricultural enterprises (micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises) based in Carinthia. This continuously accessible regional funding in the form of a grant targets the safeguarding and improvement of primary animal production. Under § 30, aid is granted for quality improvement in animal husbandry – for example, for administrative costs related to the establishment and maintenance of herd books as well as for genetic testing. According to § 31, the funding measure supports investment grants for the purchase of high-performance breeding animals (cattle, horses, pigs, sheep, goats) and subsidies for the covering costs of broodmares. Eligible expenses include, in addition to acquisition costs, administrative costs for herd book management and tests for performance trait analysis. Applications can be submitted at any time since July 15, 2023; there is no time limitation.

Prerequisites for a successful application are the submission of a completed application with a declaration of commitment, the funding approval, and proof of the herd book registration of the animals; broodmares must also be kept on Carinthian pastureland. Double funding is excluded. Payments are made based on actual expenses; funding payments under €100 are also possible. Eligible costs also include administrative costs for herd book management and genetic analyses. Exact funding intensities and legal bases are specified in the Carinthian Agricultural and Forestry Funding Directive 2023 (§§ 30 and 31 K-LFF 2023). This measure offers an attractive opportunity to strengthen animal production in Carinthia sustainably and economically efficiently.
