Funding of the TUM University Foundation

Funding by the TUM University Foundation continuously offers educational and public institutions in Bavaria the opportunity to realize innovative projects of the Technical University of Munich beyond state funding. As a non-profit foundation, it has been specifically supporting campus projects, teaching and research initiatives, as well as continuing education programs with grants since 2010, in order to create financial leeway for forward-looking developments. The funding is exclusively aimed at projects affiliated with TUM that contribute to university development through high innovation potential and strategic relevance.

The primary goal of this funding is to strengthen strategic university development: financial flexibility generates new impulses for research, teaching, and talent promotion. Programs that deepen the interplay between science and practice, initiate interdisciplinary collaborations, or advance campus expansion are particularly supported. Applications can be submitted continuously, ensuring flexible and needs-based planning. A prerequisite for funding is the project’s affiliation with the Technical University of Munich as well as its innovative character combined with a clear strategic orientation. This funding instrument provides the university with the opportunity to respond dynamically to current challenges and to secure excellent science in the long term.
