Funding of accident insurance for hunting dogs

The funding program of the State of Burgenland supports the financial security of hunting dogs through accident insurance by granting a flat rate of €40 per insured hunting dog. Private individuals with their main residence in Burgenland can submit an application for a subsidy at any time. The aim of the measure is to reduce the risk for dog owners and to promote responsible handling of hunting dogs. The funding is ongoing and only requires proof of the conclusion of appropriate accident insurance.

The focus is on expenses for accident insurance premiums, which guarantee financial protection during hunting operations. The program is specifically aimed at dog owners with hunting dogs and links the topics of animal welfare, agriculture & rural development, as well as energy efficiency & climate protection. Through this support, not only is the protection of the four-legged companions improved, but also a contribution is made to the sustainable management of rural areas. The state funding strengthens safety and planning reliability during hunting activities and contributes to the appreciation of hunting dogs as important partners in nature and species conservation.
