Promotion of Traffic Education and Awareness to Enhance Road Safety

Non-profit associations and independent organizations based and operating in Saxony receive a grant under this funding program for the implementation of measures and projects related to traffic education and awareness. Statewide offerings for children and youth, seniors, two-wheeled vehicle users, as well as all other road users can be funded up to 100% of eligible expenses, while regional campaigns and the procurement and equipping of youth and kindergarten traffic schools can be funded with a subsidy rate of up to 80%. The goal is the sustainable improvement of traffic safety through preventive education and the creation of professionally equipped learning environments for road traffic in schools, kindergartens, and public spaces.

The maximum grants amount to €65,000 for stationary youth traffic schools, €50,000 for mobile youth traffic schools, and €25,000 for mobile kindergarten traffic schools. A prerequisite for approval, in addition to proof of non-profit status and implementation in Saxony, is the timely submission of the application form, a detailed project description, and a financing plan. Statewide projects must be applied for by November 30 of the previous year, while the deadline for establishing traffic schools is February 28 of the current year. The allocation is carried out by the Saxon State Ministry of the Interior in cooperation with the Saxon State Prevention Council.
