Description
The VRD Foundation for Renewable Energies supports non-profit organizations, educational institutions, public agencies, and foundations in Germany with earmarked, non-repayable grants. The focus is on projects promoting renewable energies, increasing energy efficiency, and sustainable agroforestry. Additionally, educational initiatives for kindergartens, schools, and secondary institutions, as well as international development projects in Africa and Latin America, are funded. Since its establishment in 1997, the private foundation has played a significant role in realizing innovative demonstration projects and collaborative partnerships with stakeholders from politics, science, and civil society.
Initiatives that make concrete contributions to climate protection, rural development, and environmental education are supported. Applicants may submit proposals continuously via the foundation’s official application form. All required project data and descriptions must be provided in full to enable evaluation. Since approvals are granted only in exceptional cases, careful preparation of the documents is recommended. A completed application consists of the filled-out form; additional documentation is only to be submitted if requested. The VRD Foundation reserves the right to prioritize project ideas that present novel approaches in agroforestry or exemplary educational concepts. The goal is to consolidate forward-looking initiatives and contribute to their more interconnected implementation.
