Description
Since 2008, the Walter Kögler Foundation has continuously supported projects in Baden-Württemberg in the fields of education, culture, media, music, social affairs, sports, as well as vocational training, with a special focus on folk dance, folk music, and folk songs. Associations, organizations, and individuals who engage scientifically or creatively with these traditions can apply for grants for a variety of measures. Priorities include, among others, publication and printing costs, the organization of specialist conferences, course and training fees, as well as the establishment and operation of archives. Furthermore, the foundation supports the free distribution of sound recordings to groups that would hardly be able to realize their offerings without funding. Projects of all sizes are considered within ongoing application rounds to ensure early planning and reliable allocation of funds.
A separate application is required for each measure, which, in addition to the official application form, must include a concise project description, a detailed cost estimate, and a realistic financing plan including own funds. Applications can be submitted continuously but must be received by the foundation no later than July 15 of the respective fiscal year. A funding commitment requires compliance with the foundation’s funding guidelines and a unanimous resolution by the board. Upon completion of the funded measure, proof of use must be submitted within six months. This transparent process establishes fair allocation criteria and ensures the sustainable preservation of cultural traditions.
