Funding of the Walther Blohm Foundation (Scholarships/Grants for Aerospace)

The Walther Blohm Foundation supports committed early-career researchers and students in engineering nationwide with financial assistance for professional development, doctoral studies, stays abroad, study trips, as well as technical university projects. Eligible to apply are individual students, doctoral candidates, and university research groups from the field of aerospace engineering. Prerequisites for funding include demonstrably good to very good academic performance, timely progress in studies, extracurricular engagement, and a clear focus on aerospace. The foundation grants interest-free, non-repayable or repayable subsidies, which can be disbursed either as a one-time payment or in regular installments. A realistic timeline and a convincing presentation of the funding need are among the central evaluation criteria.

For the application, a completed application form, a detailed project description, academic transcripts, and a tabular CV are required; a financing plan can be optionally included. Funding prerequisites, such as the continuity of technical group work and the specific benefit of planned projects, are carefully reviewed. Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis, as the foundation does not impose fixed deadlines. The board decides on the allocation, taking into account the statutes and available funds. The Walther Blohm Foundation places great importance on sustainable support of the beneficiaries and expects regular reports on progress in studies, doctoral research, or group projects.
