Funding of the Willy Richter Foundation

Since 2003, the Willy Richter Foundation has been committed to charitable projects in the Ruhr area of North Rhine-Westphalia, with its headquarters in the city of Minden. The focus is on youth and elderly care initiatives, sports projects, as well as measures to support those politically, racially, or religiously persecuted, refugees, and displaced persons. Eligible applicants include not only associations, interest groups, and public institutions but also private individuals, provided the project approach complies with the foundation’s statutes and the applicant can demonstrate their location within the funding area. Only projects that align with the foundation’s purpose and generate a sustainable social or cultural benefit for the local community are funded.

Funding is granted as a financial subsidy without a fixed submission deadline, allowing project sponsors to submit applications continuously. Through this ongoing allocation practice, the foundation enables flexible planning and implementation of funded projects – from sports clubs to initiatives in child and youth work, as well as support services for disadvantaged groups.
