Funding of the Wolfgang Siegel Foundation

The Wolfgang Siegel Foundation specifically supports scientific projects as well as education, public, and vocational training in Bavaria, with a special focus on Northeast Upper Franconian historical research. As a public foundation under civil law based in Hof, it assists educational institutions and public organizations in the preparation and publication of research on regional history. Furthermore, priority is given to supplying students from Hof with local history teaching materials to deepen their understanding of the culture and history of the Bavarian Vogtland.

Funded projects include both scholarly treatises and the acquisition of museum objects: for example, the foundation provides grants to the "Bavarian Vogtland" Museum for the purchase of exhibits to continuously expand its collection. Teaching and instructional materials for local history lessons at primary and secondary schools are supported, as is technical equipment for extracurricular learning sites. Applications may be submitted at any time, provided the funding purpose is rooted in Northeast Upper Franconian historical research and the applicant is active in the Hof region or Northeast Upper Franconia. Funding is granted as a subsidy, at the discretion of the board of trustees and within the framework of the statutory provisions.
