Funding objective
The program supports investments in the further development of industry-related research infrastructure, measures for technology transfer, the development of prototypes, as well as infrastructures for start-up accelerators, in order to strengthen innovation capacities and promote business start-ups.

Description
Within the framework of EVI PLUS 2021–2027, a grant program is offered in Baden-Württemberg that supports investments in application-oriented research infrastructure, technology transfer, and the validation of research results, while also promoting business start-ups. The program provides financial resources amounting to 40 percent of eligible expenses and aims to strengthen innovation capacities, advance prototype development, and expand infrastructures for start-up accelerators. Eligible applicants include educational institutions, public bodies, interest groups, companies, and founders domiciled in the European Union with a branch or establishment in Baden-Württemberg. The L-Bank accepts applications under specific funding calls and plays a central role in implementing the ERDF program.
Funding is provided, among other things, for construction measures to expand existing core competencies, acquisitions of major equipment and laboratory facilities, as well as activities in technology transfer, for example through technology transfer managers, digital communication platforms, conferences, and workshops. Furthermore, the program includes the development of prototypes and the expansion of accelerator infrastructures. Prerequisites include the implementation of the project in Baden-Württemberg, proof of overall financing, compliance with a five-year binding period for investments in fixed assets, and affiliation with the state's thematic specialization fields such as digitalization, artificial intelligence, sustainable mobility, healthcare industry, resource efficiency, energy transition, and sustainable bioeconomy. Also relevant are key technologies such as IT security, robotics, circular economy, aerospace, creative and logistics industries, as well as energy and storage technologies. Participation in the respective funding calls of the responsible ministry is mandatory.
