Description
With the program Promotion of Voluntary Engagement in Neighborhoods (FEIN Individual Measures), the Senate Department for Urban Development, Building and Housing in Berlin supports residents engaged in voluntary work as well as non-profit initiatives in enhancing public infrastructure. One-time measures outside the areas covered by the "Social City" program are funded, where material resources are used for renovations, plantings, or equipment. A grant of up to €3,500 is possible per individual measure. In addition to proof of actual expenses, a voluntary contribution from the applicants is required. Applications can be submitted informally at any time to the responsible district office, making the process straightforward and flexible.
The program is aimed at non-profit actors with a place of residence or activity in Berlin who wish to strengthen social cohesion in the neighborhood and sustainably improve spatial quality. Projects in the fields of Infrastructure & Urban Development, Engagement for Social Cohesion/Democracy, and Work & Social Affairs can particularly benefit from the funding. Whether renovating schools, redesigning green spaces, or equipping community centers – FEIN individual measures help make public facilities fit for everyday use and actively involve the neighborhood in development. The combination of voluntary commitment and financial support creates direct added value for all involved and strengthens civic engagement on site.
