  • No deployment of volunteers within one's own organization

Description

Description of the Funding
The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania supports educational institutions and public sponsors with a non-repayable grant for the Voluntary Ecological Year. With a funding amount of €557 per participant per month, measures in the fields of nature and environmental protection, agriculture & rural development, as well as education for sustainable development are co-financed. The goal is to strengthen the ecological commitment of young people up to the age of 27 and to provide them with a solid orientation for their personal and professional future through practical experiences in agriculture and forestry, energy efficiency, and climate protection. The project duration is generally 12 months, with the program starting each year on September 1st. Applications can be submitted at any time before the start of the project to the State Office for Health and Social Affairs, as the funding is continuously available.

Funding Requirements & Application Documents
Eligible to apply are legal entities under public law or educational sponsors authorized under the Youth Voluntary Service Act in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A prerequisite is the implementation of the program at placement sites within the federal state and the supervision of at least 40 young people. The deployment of volunteers within one's own organization is excluded. Eligible expenses include participant remuneration, personnel costs for educational supervisors, material as well as indirect expenses. Required for the application are proofs of JFDG authorization, compliance with implementation regulations, the sponsor’s headquarters in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, supervision capacities, recognition of placement sites, and certification as an educational center for sustainability.
