Promotion of the health-related services of parent-child centers

The Public Health Department of the State of Tyrol provides non-profit parent-child centers in Tyrol with a permanent grant funding to systematically expand their health-related offerings. The focus is on courses in the fields of health, children and adolescents, as well as work & social affairs, which support expectant parents and families from pregnancy onwards. These include childbirth preparation, prenatal gymnastics, breastfeeding groups, and baby massage. With medically sound concepts and professional guidance by qualified specialists, the program promotes physical well-being, confidence in parental roles, and early bonding between parents and child. As an ongoing funding instrument, it contributes to prevention and creates sustainable structures in early childhood health care.

Funding is provided to non-profit associations, interest groups, or charitable organizations recognized as parent-child centers according to the guidelines of the State of Tyrol. Core requirements are a medical basis for the courses as well as expert implementation by medical personnel to ensure a high quality standard. The form of direct grant allocation enables targeted support without time limitation: applications can be submitted at any time. The necessary form is provided by the Public Health Department. Thanks to this flexible procedure, parent-child centers throughout Tyrol can quickly respond to local needs and continuously develop their offerings. The funding program also helps to strengthen cooperation between parent-child centers and local health institutions and to promote regional networks.
