Description

The state of Schleswig-Holstein provides financial resources within the framework of a grant program for international youth encounters to promote understanding, peace education, and international understanding among young people. Funding is granted for initiatives where young people from Schleswig-Holstein come together with peers from EU and Baltic Sea neighboring countries. Eligible applicants include educational institutions, public and non-profit youth welfare organizations, as well as district-affiliated towns and municipalities. The program is particularly aimed at organizations conducting professional exchange projects, intercultural workshops, or special measures in the Baltic Sea region. Project proposals can be submitted until March 1 of each year, with approval required before the start of the measure.

The grant covers part of the incurred costs; recipients are required to contribute an appropriate amount themselves. A prerequisite for funding is proof of accident, health, and liability insurance for all participants, as well as a transparent presentation of priorities and objectives in the application. Upon completion of the project, a usage report including a presentation of results must be submitted, documenting the achievement of goals and the educational effects. These requirements ensure quality assurance and guarantee a sustainable impact in terms of fostering a peace-oriented coexistence of young people across borders.
