Description

The promotion of hunting in Upper Austria continuously supports projects aimed at improving habitats, protecting, and preserving native wildlife populations. Carriers of measures such as the installation of wildlife warning reflectors, the use of wildlife rescue devices, species protection programs, scientific studies, or monitoring projects receive financial contributions from the State of Upper Austria through direct grants via the Upper Austrian State Hunting Association. Since January 1, 2015, the call for proposals has been open-ended and provides an annual budget of up to €219,000. The program relies on close integration of nature conservation, agriculture, rural development, as well as energy and climate protection aspects, and promotes innovative commitment to biodiversity.

Eligible for funding are interest groups, other associations, companies, non-profit organizations, and educational institutions active in hunting, agriculture and forestry, nature conservation, or research. A prerequisite is compliance with the general funding guidelines of the State of Upper Austria, proof of proper use of funds, and the assignment of projects to the categories defined in the funding subject. The only required submission document is the completed funding application, which can be submitted continuously. The funding is equally aimed at project implementers who wish to protect populations and prey animals, as well as scientific institutions contributing to the knowledge base through monitoring and studies. Interested applicants are invited to thoroughly inform themselves about the funding criteria and guidelines and to implement their ideas to strengthen biodiversity in Upper Austria.
