Description

The funding provided by the Styrian State Fire Brigade Association represents a continuous subsidy measure addressing public institutions in the areas of disaster protection as well as labor & social affairs. Based on the contract concluded between the State of Styria and the State Fire Brigade Association, funds from the fire protection tax are transferred for self-administration. These funds are primarily used to cover the operating costs of the Fire and Civil Protection School of Styria and the operation of the state control center. Furthermore, the funds serve to settle contributions to the association "State Office for Fire Prevention" and to support fire service-related tasks and association activities of the Styrian State Fire Brigade Association. Payments are made quarterly upon receipt of the fire protection tax funds by the state (March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31), thereby ensuring timely liquidity security.

A prerequisite for the grant is the maintenance of the existing contractual framework for managing the fire protection tax funds. Application deadlines effectively exist continuously, as the contract has been valid indefinitely since October 15, 2013. Within the framework of the allocation, representatives from political offices, municipal representatives, the State Fire Brigade Association, and the State Fire Brigade Inspectorate exercise supervisory functions and participate in relevant committees. The objective is to ensure the professional and economical use of funds to strengthen the training and continuing education infrastructure as well as to support coordinated disaster protection measures in Styria.
