Promotion of the Construction and Expansion of Freight Routes in Burgenland

The funding aims at the new construction and expansion of rural paths and roads in Burgenland, thereby supporting the development of regional infrastructure as well as the advancement of rural areas. Eligible applicants include interest groups, associations, companies, cooperatives, foundations, and public institutions in accordance with the Burgenland Road Act 2005. Designed as a grant, all eligible costs incurred from the date of project approval are considered since October 16, 2013 – no maximum limit has been set. Through financial support, optimal connectivity of agriculturally designated areas is to be ensured, thereby strengthening mobility and economic strength in the municipalities of Burgenland.

For the application, an informal request including a location sketch must be submitted, strictly prior to the commencement of construction work. A prerequisite for a positive funding decision is the development of the affected areas in accordance with the current land use plan, as well as the submission of a simple technical project for each construction measure. Furthermore, the guidelines and regulations for road management (RVS) and relevant standards must be applied. Recognition of eligible expenses applies exclusively from the official date of receipt of the funding application at Department 4b Rural Roads of the Office of the Burgenland State Government. Since the funding is continuously announced without a fixed budget volume, long-term planning and implementation of infrastructure investments in rural areas is possible.
