Description

The project “BBE NACHBARINNEN Empowerment Perspective” in Vienna supports non-profit organizations, particularly the association NACHBARINNEN, in assisting refugee and migrant women whose mother tongues are Somali, Arabic, Farsi/Dari, Turkish as well as Chechen, Russian, and Ukrainian. The goal is to open access to the labor market for women living in economic precarity and to reduce existing barriers to placement. In the thematic areas of migration, social affairs, women’s empowerment, and work & social issues, systemic approaches such as personal network work, social space orientation, and case management are employed. Through home visits, women’s work, accompaniment to authorities, and educational breakfasts, a tailored support offer is created that provides sustainable perspectives for professional integration over 24 months (01.01.2025–31.12.2026). The funding amount is granted as a non-repayable subsidy and is based on the actual costs specified in the funding contract.

Eligible for funding are exclusively non-profit organizations that offer the service in Vienna and ensure project implementation according to the contract. A detailed project description and a financial plan must be submitted for the application. Deadlines are determined by the contractual agreements with the Vienna Employees’ Promotion Fund (waff). The waff, as a labor market policy institution of the City of Vienna, supports the project in all delivery and accounting-related matters. Through the combination of educational and employment measures, learning support, and parent-child programs, cross-departmental action impulses are set, enabling the supported women to take up long-term, livelihood-secure employment and integrate into urban society.
