Description
The program for the promotion of club-owned sports facility construction in Thuringia supports non-profit sports clubs, associations, as well as district and city sports federations in the renovation, modernization, repurposing, expansion, and new construction of their own sports facilities. The goal is the sustainable improvement of infrastructure through the installation of energy-efficient and environmentally friendly technologies as well as the creation of barrier-free and gender-equitable usage forms. Up to €2.7 million in state funds are available annually, with grants of up to 60% of eligible costs being awarded. A maximum of €500 per registered club member can be applied for; voluntary labor contributions by members are creditable up to 30% of the total investment. Measures for parking lot construction or public access development are not eligible for funding.
Eligible to participate are organizations that are members of the Thuringian State Sports Association (Landessportbund Thüringen e.V.) and can demonstrate a contractually regulated binding period of at least 15 years (20 years for new construction). The application deadline for the funding year 2027 is August 1, 2026. The application procedure includes the completed registration form, expert statements from the municipality, district, district or city sports federation (KSB/SSB), and sports association, as well as, if necessary, planning cost evidence according to DIN 276 or cost estimates for a total volume of €150,000 or more. Projects with total costs exceeding €50,000 additionally require a consultation meeting with the responsible district or city sports federation. Selection criteria include, among others, priority within the district, club and sports development, child and youth work, as well as cooperation.
