Funding of Diaconal Projects – Diakonie Foundation "Charity in Einbeck"

The Diakonie Foundation “Charity in Einbeck” supports diaconal projects in an unbureaucratic manner and provides individual assistance in acute emergencies within the core city of Einbeck (Lower Saxony). Since its founding in 2009 by three Evangelical Lutheran congregations and the Diaconal Work of the church district, the foundation has been available with capital of around 520,000 euros to support social initiatives. Approximately 16,000 euros are disbursed annually to quickly and effectively relieve people in need. Applicants are non-profit organizations, public institutions, and private individuals active in the diaconal sector who can demonstrate that no other funding options are available.

The funding offer is aimed at people in acute distress – including elderly citizens, women in separation situations, families with children, as well as other persons in need of assistance. The focus is on grants to the Diaconal Work, support for specific social project ideas, and the provision of individual emergency aid. Contributions are granted exclusively as subsidies; applications can be submitted at any time without a fixed deadline. Through close cooperation with the specialist services of the Diaconal Work on site, the foundation ensures that aid reaches where it is urgently needed. This funding-oriented commitment strengthens the participation of disadvantaged people and contributes sustainably to social stability in Einbeck.
