Funding by the Heidrun and Gerhard Kirch Foundation

The Heidrun and Gerhard Kirch Foundation is committed as a non-profit organization to promoting social and educational initiatives in Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, and Rhineland-Palatinate. Through ongoing grants, it particularly supports kindergartens, daycare centers, and educational institutions to create optimal developmental conditions for children and youth. A focus lies on the provision of educational play materials, artistic supplies, and child-appropriate furniture. Furthermore, the foundation promotes healthy catering options in schools and daycare centers – ranging from daily fruit breaks to nutrient-rich breakfast projects. Animal shelters and species protection organizations also benefit from financial contributions, which are used, for example, for veterinary care, food procurement, or the maintenance of accommodations. In addition to education and social matters, the areas of energy efficiency and climate protection are also eligible topics to support sustainable development processes in the long term.

Eligible for funding are public institutions and non-profit organizations with charitable recognition that operate child and youth promotion or are dedicated to animal welfare in the aforementioned regions. The foundation does not impose fixed deadlines for applications, allowing project sponsors to submit funding requests continuously. Core requirements are the applicants’ non-profit objectives as well as the implementation of concrete measures in the funding priorities of social affairs, education and training, and animal protection. Through close support and consultation during the application process, the foundation ensures that funds are used purposefully and effectively.
