Description
Agricultural enterprises in the disadvantaged areas of Brandenburg and Berlin receive a compensatory allowance of €25 per hectare of agricultural land as part of the ongoing agricultural support. This funding aims to offset income losses and additional expenses due to natural site disadvantages such as sandy soils or low yield potential. The directive, initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, Environment and Consumer Protection (MLEUV) Brandenburg, has been extended until 31.12.2025 and offers a continuous subsidy opportunity for all enterprises that cultivate their own land and meet the minimum plot size of 0.3 ha. Eligible are arable land and grassland as well as eligible landscape elements within the designated framework of disadvantaged areas.
The grant contributes sustainably to the permanent use of agricultural land, the maintenance of the cultural landscape, and the promotion of environmentally friendly farming practices. Applicants submit the partial application for the compensatory allowance together with the annual agricultural support application to the responsible Office for Agriculture or the State Office for Rural Development, Agriculture and Land Reorganization. A prerequisite is the verifiable agricultural use of the land as well as its location within the defined Digital Field Block Cadastre. Payment is made after approval without further application and is based on the verified land records. This ensures that financially weaker enterprises also contribute to the maintenance of rural areas in the long term and that the functions of the cultural landscape are preserved.
