The state of Baden-Württemberg promotes novel regional innovation systems embedded in a regional strategy with funds from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The goal is the further development and consolidation of existing innovation structures through new management structures, instruments, and formats in specialization fields such as digitalization, sustainable mobility, health economy, resource efficiency, and bioeconomy for an intelligent and low-CO2 Europe.

Description
The program “Promotion of sustainable regional development through innovation systems and sustainability (ERDF – RegioInn2030)” supports the further development of regional innovation architectures in Baden-Württemberg. The goal is to intensify specialization fields such as digitalization, sustainable mobility, health economy, resource efficiency, and bioeconomy. Projects are embedded in an overarching regional strategy and receive support in establishing new management structures, instruments, and formats. This is intended to strengthen innovation networks, involve small and medium-sized enterprises, and advance an intelligent, low-CO2 Europe.
Eligible for funding are legal entities under public and private law as well as partnerships, including municipalities, research institutions, universities, associations, and companies. Funding is provided as a grant amounting to 40 percent of eligible expenses, up to a maximum of 200,000 euros. Requirements include compliance with the ERDF-VEZ 2021–2027 guidelines, secured overall financing, implementation of the project in Baden-Württemberg, and adherence to specific earmarking periods. Additionally, successful participation in a specific funding call by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Labour and Tourism Baden-Württemberg is required. Applications must be submitted before the start of the measure and processed through L-Bank.
