Description
Within the framework of the joint task "Improvement of Agricultural Structure and Coastal Protection," the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania provides a grant for forestry measures. The goal is the sustainable development of the forest as well as the permanent safeguarding of its productive, protective, and recreational functions. Funding is provided, among other things, for near-natural forest management, the expansion of forestry infrastructure, initial afforestation, and measures to address forest damage caused by extreme weather events. This aims to optimize production, labor, and marketing conditions in forestry and to promote long-term stable forest ecosystems. Applications must be submitted before the start of the respective project and must comply with the provisions of the current GAK framework plan.
Eligible to apply across sectors are natural and legal persons under private and public law who own agricultural and forestry land, as well as forestry associations. Grants are awarded as co-financing, with the exact amount of the subsidy depending on the type and scope of the planned measure. A prerequisite for approval is compliance with the prescribed binding periods and the specific requirements of the individual funding modules. Interested applicants should submit their documents before the project begins to Landesforst Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which administers the funds and provides advisory support on behalf of the Ministry for Climate Protection, Agriculture, Rural Areas, and Environment Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
